Reborn Medicine King

2After Jiang Fann finished speaking, he flew north, with the Purple Jade Eagle and Gu Xie following closely behind. The little one looked at his true form with a complex expression, but without fear. He said nothing more and turned to follow.

The elder, though reluctant to part with his spirit, found himself powerless to change the situation. Once they left the Mountain of Gods, the little one felt an immense sense of relief. He had imagined countless scenarios of meeting his true form, never expecting it to end like this. However, things resolved far more smoothly than he had anticipated, thanks entirely to Gu Xie's formidable strength.

Jiang Fann asked the fluttering bird beside him, "Why don't you plan to go back and see your true form?"

The Purple Jade Eagle replied, "My clan isn't as easygoing as the God Clan. I'm afraid they might stubbornly confront Gu Xie and end up being wiped out! I was born to protect my clan, and I don't want to endanger them because of this. I've already given them a solution, and it's up to the God Clan to persuade them."

As they flew, Jiang Fann erased the soul marks from his consciousness and theirs. The moment their connection broke, the little one and his companion realized that Jiang Fann had granted them freedom. From now on, they only needed to live for themselves.

They all chose silence for a moment, following closely beside Jiang Fann without saying a word.

Gu Xie broke the silence, asking Jiang Fann, "This isn't the way back to the Mountain of Gods."

Jiang Fann nodded. "Since we're here, we might as well take care of other matters. The issues with Senior Chu and Senior Duan were easy for me. Debts owed must eventually be repaid."

Upon reaching the Yellow Sand Domain, Jiang Fann noticed that the area was now crisscrossed with rivers, a stark contrast to how it was when he first visited. This was how the Yellow Sand Domain once looked. Following his memory, he led the group to a massive lake and finally stopped.

"This should be it."

The little guy immediately understood Jiang Fann's intentions and offered, "I'll lead the way."

With that, he dove straight in. Jiang Fann and the others followed, diving toward the lake's bottom, and soon arrived at a barrier.

The little guy used his Strength of Array Breaking to easily create an opening in the barrier, allowing everyone to enter.

This place was once home to an Ancient God Clan known as the Profound Turtle Clan, but sadly, few of its members remained. Jiang Fann had once received a golden turtle shell from them, which had saved his life several times. He remembered the state of the great turtle back then; its high level of cultivation was completely ruined, and Jiang Fann had examined it, finding that the turtle's Qi Sea was severely damaged.

Unfortunately, back then, his abilities weren't advanced enough to help the Profound Turtle heal. When he happened to think of him, Jiang Fann was more than willing to lend a hand.

The Profound Turtle sensed someone approaching and slowly awoke from its slumber. Seeing the young one and Jiang Fann, it was quite surprised. "It's you..."

Jiang Fann stepped forward with a gentle smile. "Elder, I'm here to fulfill my promise from before. Now that the Ancient God Clan has returned and the God-Slaying Clan has been defeated, it's time for the Profound Turtle Clan to return as well."

The Profound Turtle hadn't expected Jiang Fann to remember him after all these years. Moreover, Jiang Fann's aura was now on a completely different level than it had been back then.

"You're here to heal me?"

Jiang Fann wasted no time. He had already assessed the old turtle's condition years ago. The injuries were severe, but for him now, they were nothing. Even if he had come a decade earlier, he could have easily healed them.

Jiang Fann used the Divine Wood Scripture to forcibly repair the injuries. The backlash from the wounds was insignificant to him. He suppressed it with the power of divine blood, and in no time, the physical body was restored, with the divine blood's power surpassing the injuries.

The Profound Turtle was utterly astonished. The wounds on its Qi Sea were healing at a visible pace, and it could even start absorbing some spiritual strength from the surroundings—something it hadn't experienced in countless years.

Three hours later, Jiang Fann withdrew his energy and gave a pill to the Profound Turtle.

"Senior, this is all I can do for you. The rest is up to you to recover on your own."

The Profound Turtle was visibly moved.

"This is more than enough. I don't even know how to thank you."

Jiang Fann smiled and said, "No need to overthink it, Senior. It's a debt I owed. Perhaps we'll meet again someday."

With that, Jiang Fann and his companions turned to leave, ignoring the Profound Turtle's attempts to make them stay.

...

By the time they returned to Myriad Clouds Mountain, it was already night. Jiang Fann led his group back and entrusted Little Dot and the Purple Jade Eagle to Tao Zhen.

Jiang Fann then inscribed some of his insights and high-quality medicinal recipes into a specially crafted book, naming it the Medicine King's Tome. He gathered a few disciples and passed the tome on to them, as he wouldn't be taking them along this time. He assured them that mastering the contents of the tome would lead to great achievements in the future.

Additionally, Jiang Fann taught each of them a unique flame that best suited their abilities, which was crucial for their path in alchemy.

He then called for Xian Hu and Wan Chengfeng, instructing them to prepare for departure the next morning, as they would be heading to the Upper Nine Heavens.

Jiang Fann also met with Tao Zhen again, contributing most of the treasures he had acquired over the years to the Heaven Pavilion's treasury. He left the tower he obtained from the Formation Spirit there as well, which contained not only various books but also a unique training space at the top level.

With the aid of such a powerful cultivation artifact, Jiang Fann believed it would greatly benefit both the disciples and the leaders of the Heaven Pavilion. He was generous in his support for the Pavilion. Tao Zhen was thrilled to discover the wonders of this tower, as treasures of this caliber were unheard of in their realm. Experiencing it firsthand, he gained much from it.

With a little time left, Jiang Fann spent it with his parents. Early the next morning, he summoned the Star River Cauldron, bringing Gu Xie and Xian Hu along, and swiftly departed without hesitation. Jiang Fann had a clear goal in mind. Though the Nine Desolations were in chaos, it also presented an opportunity for the Heaven Pavilion. He couldn't linger there indefinitely, as others were waiting for him.

Inside the Star River Cauldron, Xian Hu was on his first journey through the starry sea and was visibly excited. Meanwhile, Wan Chengfeng appeared much calmer. However, he was quite surprised when he saw Xian Hu at Myriad Clouds Mountain, knowing the young man's exceptional talent was on par with his own in his youth. If word got out, Xian Hu would almost certainly make it onto the legendary Starry Sea List.

Gu Xie then entered Jiang Fann's Spiritual Treasure of Fairyland. Only then did Wan Chengfeng ask, "Why are we heading back to the Upper Nine Heavens? Wouldn't it be better to go directly to the Sanctum Academy? Going to the Upper Nine Heavens is no different from staying in the Nine Desolations for training."

Jiang Fann said, "I need to retreat to the Upper Nine Heavens for a while. Once I assess the situation, I'll decide when to head to the Sacred Hall Academy. Just follow my lead."

Wan Chengfeng understood that Jiang Fann clearly had a goal in mind, so he didn't press further. Jiang Fann was eager to reach the Upper Nine Heavens because he needed immense spiritual strength to support his cultivation. The reason was simple: he had acquired all nine chapters of the foundational part of the Creation Spell of Heaven and Earth. He needed to disperse his current cultivation and then elevate his realm before advancing to the Heavenly King chapter, and perhaps even the Transcendence chapter.

The spiritual strength he required was in the Upper Nine Heavens. Without further conversation, they arrived there, and as soon as they entered, both Jiang Fann and Wan Chengfeng furrowed their brows.

They each took out a piece of Spirit Attached Jade from their pockets to sense the situation above. The owner of the jade was Fang Xiang, whom they hadn't seen in a while. Fang Xiang had left with a senior, and they were unsure of his current situation. However, the signal he was sending was clearly a distress call. They had just returned and sensed it, which meant Fang Xiang had likely been signaling for help all along.

The two exchanged worried glances. Having traveled together for so long, their bond was strong. If something was wrong with Fang Xiang, they couldn't just ignore it.

Wan Chengfeng said, "That guy is the son of the Thunder Sect's leader and the future head of the sect. Plus, he's got skilled protectors. What kind of trouble could he possibly run into?"

"How should I know? We'll only understand the situation once we see him."

Xian Hu, who was nearby, wasn't sure what was happening, but for now, he just needed to stick with the two of them.

The two confirmed Fang Xiang's current location and found that he was still within the borders of the Central Dynasty.

Wan Chengfeng frowned, "Could it be that old man Ye Changtian lied to us back then?"

With doubts in their minds, the two headed straight for the nearest town. They planned to use the teleportation array to enter the Central Dynasty. This time, Jiang Fann and Wan Chengfeng decided to disguise themselves in advance, to avoid drawing too much attention. After all, they had caused quite a stir with Fang Xiang before, and showing up suddenly might attract unnecessary trouble. They still weren't sure what was going on with Fang Xiang.

As for Xian Hu, he was a new face, so there was no need to worry about him.

Once in town, the three of them headed directly towards the teleportation array. Wan Chengfeng had plenty of currency to cover their travel expenses.

Jiang Fann, however, was no longer as cautious as before. Over the years, his combat power had fully developed. He was no longer struggling just to protect himself. After battling with the likes of Venerable Hanxing, he had a good sense of his ultimate strength, which had reached the peak of the Reincarnation Realm.

As they entered the heart of the kingdom, Wan Chengfeng suddenly noticed that the once bustling city streets were now eerily quiet, with far fewer people around. They had visited this city before; although it wasn't the capital, it was still a prime location where every inch of land was valuable, and it should have been thriving.

Wan Chengfeng had a better grasp of the kingdom's situation than Jiang Fann. He turned to them and said, "Something feels off. You two wait here while I check things out at the Nine Heavens Pavilion."

After a short while, Wan Chengfeng returned the same way he had left. He first made sure of Fang Xiang's current location, then led them to the teleportation array manager nearby, and together they left the city.

However, when they arrived at the second city in the kingdom, they found it much the same as the first—its streets were equally deserted.
