Reborn Medicine King

C2679 As Expected

C2679 As Expected

1Upon hearing what Jiang Fann said, Wan Chengfeng was a bit surprised.

"You know?"

"Still, we need to confirm it. We can't just pin the blame on someone without proof."

As they spoke, a group of young people approached, clearly excited to see Jiang Fann. They had all witnessed the era of his rise.

"Master, we greet the Pavilion Lord!"

Jiang Fann looked at them and smiled. "Not bad. It seems you've all made significant progress training with Brother Wan over the years. But you'll need to work even harder. In these chaotic times, you are the strength of the Pavilion."

"Understood!"

Wan Chengfeng instructed, "Tie these people up first. Then, take Wu Yang to face the trial here. You don't need to be involved in anything else."

The young people obediently followed Wan Chengfeng's instructions.

Due to Jiang Fann's Medicine Arts, the cultivators at the Mortal Separating Stage were in a deep sleep. Meanwhile, the three at the Reincarnation Stage had their Qi Sea sealed by Jiang Fann, ensuring they couldn't cause any trouble even if they woke up.

Wan Chengfeng looked Jiang Fann up and down, frowning. "You've been in seclusion for ten years since your breakthrough, but now it seems your power has far exceeded my expectations. I thought my own progress over the years would create some distance between us, but it seems I was mistaken."

Jiang Fann said, "I can't be sure of my current strength, but it seems that a cultivator at the fourth level of the Reincarnation Stage poses no threat to me. I can easily subdue them without using any special techniques."

He spoke earnestly, clearly not boasting to Wan Chengfeng, who was helping him analyze the situation.

Wan Chengfeng frowned, "You know that to easily subdue such a cultivator, you'd need to be at least three minor stages higher, meaning you'd need the strength of the seventh level of the Reincarnation Stage. You're only at the third level of the Mortal Separating Stage. Could you really have that kind of power already?"

Jiang Fann clenched his fist and shook his head slightly. "I guess we'll only know for sure when it's put to the test."

"You really are something else! So, what's your plan? Although Nine Desolations is great, even surpassing the Upper Nine Heavens in some ways, I doubt you'll be content to stay here. I've been waiting for you for ten years."

At this, Jiang Fann sighed, "Yeah, ten years... I wonder how they're doing now."

Wan Chengfeng chuckled, "Thinking about your lady friends, huh? They're not in Nine Desolations."

Jiang Fann snapped back to reality and smiled, "Once I handle the current issues, I'll take you back to the Upper Nine Heavens, and then we'll head straight to the Sacred Hall Academy."

Hearing the name Sacred Hall Academy, Wan Chengfeng was startled and quickly asked, "You mean the legendary one?"

Jiang Fann nodded. "I'll take you over there, but whether you can become a disciple depends on your own abilities. However, the priority right now isn't leaving. Someone made a move against you, but their target wasn't really you."

Wan Chengfeng raised an eyebrow. He was sharp and quickly grasped Jiang Fann's implication. "Could their target be the Heaven Pavilion?"

Jiang Fann nodded. "We can't be completely sure yet. It's hard to get information from cultivators at the Reincarnation Stage. Let's try asking others."

Wan Chengfeng suggested, "If they're unwilling to talk, we might find clues in the items they carry. If they came together, they must have something that identifies them."

"Good point."

With that, the two of them approached a nearby unconscious cultivator. Wan Chengfeng began searching him, while Jiang Fann picked up his Hundred Treasures Bag, attempting to erase the soul imprint to see if he could open it.

Wan Chengfeng searched several people but came up empty-handed. None of them had any tokens or identification items. "These guys have nothing on them but their clothes. Their auras are all different, so they don't seem to be from the same sect."

Jiang Fann remarked, "Having nothing is even stranger. They're clearly trying to hide their identities."

As he spoke, Jiang Fann's hands remained busy. He had learned the technique to unlock a Hundred Treasures Bag long ago. Although each cultivator's creation might differ, the fundamental principles remained the same.

The toughest part was definitely breaking the formation above and erasing the mark, but for Jiang Fann, it was no problem at all. His power now far exceeded what it was ten years ago. Before any of the cultivators could wake from their stupor, Jiang Fann had already successfully unlocked the Hundred Treasures Bag in his hand and sent his spiritual sense into it.

Soon, a golden armor appeared, radiating a strong aura, exuding a sense of righteousness. Jiang Fann had seen this golden armor before and wasn't surprised in the least. He then hung the Hundred Treasures Bag back on the cultivator without any intention of further questioning.

Seeing his reaction, Wan Chengfeng asked directly, "You already know?"

Jiang Fann nodded. "I'll lock them in my Spiritual Treasure of Fairyland for now and take them back to Myriad Clouds Mountain for safekeeping. Looks like I need to get out and about more; otherwise, people seem to forget about me."

Wan Chengfeng was clearly curious about these people's identities and quickly asked, "Who's targeting us?"

"Heaven Pavilion."

"What? It's them! When I was out training alone, I dealt with them quite a bit. But it seems they've been recruiting experts in secret. Many who weren't originally with them have now joined. Weren't they a force in the Tianyao Wilderness? Weren't you allies against foreign threats?"

Jiang Fann replied, "We were only half-allies at best. I took their treasures, so friendliness was never really on the table. But as for why they're acting now, I need to investigate further. I'll go check it out myself."

After speaking, he summoned the jar that held the poisonous insects and placed the unconscious cultivators inside. Since the jar wasn't bound to anyone, it was usable by anyone. After securing the captives, he handed the jar to Wan Chengfeng.

"Take them back to Myriad Clouds Mountain. Don't worry about those three cultivators at the Reincarnation Stage; I've sealed their Qi Sea with medicine arts. They won't be able to break free. Just have them plant trees at Myriad Clouds Mountain."

Wan Chengfeng took the jar, looking at Jiang Fann with curiosity. "Are you planning to go solo?"

"Not exactly solo. I've got Old Mudfish and other allies. You should head back to Myriad Clouds Mountain and get ready. Once we resolve the issues here in Nine Desolations, we'll be prepared to head to the Upper Nine Heavens."

Hearing this, Wan Chengfeng perked up, clearly eager to join Jiang Fann in exploring stronger realms. It would significantly boost his cultivation speed, and he was a martial arts enthusiast through and through.

"Alright, I'll handle things here. You take care of yourself."

Jiang Fann nodded. "I need to check the entrance to the Secret Realm again. There might be someone from the Heavenly Palace waiting. If there is, I'll scare them off to make sure they don't target you."

Wan Chengfeng chuckled, "This is the Land of Inheritance, so they might have a chance to ambush me here. But outside the Secret Realm, unless a top-tier Reincarnation Stage expert shows up, they can't stop me. I doubt the Heavenly Palace cultivators would dare attack us in broad daylight. I'm somewhat of a celebrity in Nine Desolations now, even more so than you, the head of the Heaven Pavilion."

Jiang Fann smiled and glanced at the Heaven Pavilion disciples undergoing their trials. With a light chuckle, he said, "I'll leave this to you. No time to waste."

Wan Chengfeng, being a straightforward person, didn't delay and let Jiang Fann leave.

As Jiang Fann departed from the Land of Inheritance, he took a moment to sense the surroundings, feeling a bit regretful. "Such a great secret realm, it's a shame there's no time to train here. The final inheritance must be impressive."

Xiaoyu reminded him, "Master, focus on the important matters."

Without lingering, Jiang Fann summoned the Star River Cauldron and entered it, using it to travel and save a lot of time.

On the journey, Jiang Fann recalled the battles in the Land of Inheritance, trying to gauge his combat strength. Wan Chengfeng's words seemed likely, but that wasn't his full power.

Meanwhile, the immortal treasures like the Martial God Order were conversing among themselves, not disturbing Jiang Fann, but all were deeply moved.

"Who would've thought that our master, having reached the Mortal Separating Stage, would be so incredibly strong? And this is just the third level. When he reaches the peak of the Mortal Separating Stage, his combat strength will likely increase significantly."

"I wonder how much of my power the master can wield now. The stronger he is, the better!"

The Longevity Robe spoke up, "The times are changing. I hope the master remains unaffected. Over at Three Lives Valley, there might be some changes too. With so many immortal treasures, he's entangled with the karma of too many powerful beings from the Nine Desolations. A single misstep could lead to karmic backlash, and then..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the War God Token interjected, "As long as the master continues to grow, these won't be issues."

While they were chatting, Jiang Fann had already arrived near the entrance to the Secret Realm. Retrieving the Star River Cauldron, he exited through the entrance and extended his spiritual sense, scanning the surroundings to see if anyone with a similar aura to the Heaven Pavilion's cultivators appeared.

If there was, Jiang Fann would need to clear the path for Wan Chengfeng to leave without obstacles.

A number of cultivators had gathered at the entrance, including some powerful ones at the Reincarnation Stage. However, Jiang Fann figured that if the Heaven Pavilion sent someone to assist, that person wouldn't be able to enter the Secret Realm and would likely be more advanced than those at the fourth level of the Reincarnation Stage.

This significantly narrowed down the possibilities for Jiang Fann.

He harnessed Xiao Yu's power, and his spiritual sense intensified dramatically. The aura of every cultivator present was imprinted in his mind, and he quickly identified three distinct auras.

Two of them were accompanied by young disciples preparing to enter the Secret Realm for training, clearly not Heaven Pavilion cultivators.

The lone figure, however, caught Jiang Fann's attention. It was a middle-aged-looking cultivator, with a restrained aura, standing with eyes closed under a tree at the back of the crowd.

If not for sensing the sixth level of the Reincarnation Stage from him, Jiang Fann wouldn't have noticed him based on appearance alone.

This person was clearly suppressing their presence intentionally.
