"Do you know who they are?"
Wu Yang shook his head. "We've been training in this secret realm for over a month without any trouble. Mr. Wan is incredibly strong, and we've mostly just been assisting him. When we entered a Land of Inheritance, before we could even face any challenges, those people suddenly appeared and started attacking us."
"Their outfits were so mixed up that it was impossible to tell where they were from, but it was definitely a planned attack. They coordinated well; otherwise, they couldn't have overwhelmed us so quickly."
Jiang Fann tried once more to use his Spirit Attached Jade to sense Wan Chengfeng's location, but he still couldn't detect anything.
"How long will it take to get there from here?" he asked.
Wu Yang hesitated for a moment before answering, "At least half a day."
"That's too long!" Jiang Fann exclaimed. He quickly used his Spiritual Strength to restrain Wu Yang, then lifted them both into the air. "Point me in the right direction, and I'll handle the rest."
Once they had their bearings, Jiang Fann unleashed his Spiritual Strength, flying southwest with Wu Yang at an astonishing speed. Wu Yang was utterly amazed. Jiang Fann's level wasn't much higher than his own, yet his speed in flight was beyond anything Wu Yang could have imagined, even surpassing some treasures specifically designed for travel. And Jiang Fann was doing it all while carrying him along.
This approach significantly cut down travel time, taking less than four hours to reach the vicinity of the Land of Inheritance where Wu Yang and his group encountered trouble. Jiang Fann landed with Wu Yang, surveyed the area, and listened to Wu Yang's suggestion.
"Sir, should we rest a bit and restore our energy before proceeding?"
Jiang Fann shook his head. "If I can't handle this much, how can I be of any help? Just lead the way. Every minute we waste increases their danger."
Wu Yang said no more and led Jiang Fann toward the Land of Inheritance. Before they even got close, they could see several figures guarding the entrance, all focusing their energy.
They were clearly on high alert, preventing anyone from breaking out.
"Those are the ones..."
Before Wu Yang could finish, he was shocked to find Jiang Fann had already vanished from his side.
In the blink of an eye, Jiang Fann appeared among the guards at the entrance. As he moved, the Mortal Separating Stage cultivators were sent flying, crashing to the ground unconscious.
In the next moment, Jiang Fann disappeared into the Land of Inheritance, leaving Wu Yang speechless. He hadn't even seen how Jiang Fann made his move.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fann found himself amidst the crowd inside the Land of Inheritance.
Just ahead, a barrier enveloped several figures, serving as Van Chengfeng's defensive treasure. A few individuals were attacking this treasure. Though their strikes seemed chaotic, they actually complemented each other, significantly amplifying their combined force. Fortunately, Van Chengfeng possessed numerous treasures, and his defenses remained unbroken for the moment.
Among those attacking the barrier, three had reached the Reincarnation Stage, with the strongest at the fourth level. Their expressions were serious, clearly strategizing their next move. Suddenly, a strange scene unfolded. The practitioners at the Mortal Separating Stage behind them inexplicably collapsed, silently.
When the three attackers snapped back to attention, they realized a figure had appeared behind them. This person looked young, radiating a red glow. As his spiritual strength was unleashed, the temperature in the space soared, making the trio feel as if they were engulfed in a fiery inferno, overwhelmed by intense pressure.
Inside the barrier, Van Chengfeng's lips curled into a smile, his face alight with surprise as he observed the scene outside. He recognized the newly arrived figure all too well—it was Jiang Fann. He hadn't expected Jiang Fann to come to his aid.
However, when Jiang Fann effortlessly sent a second-level Reincarnation Stage practitioner flying with a single slap, Van Chengfeng's heart skipped a beat. He could hardly believe his eyes, as Jiang Fann had shattered the practitioner's defenses with ease, and it was clear he wasn't even exerting his full strength!
The cultivator from the fourth cycle charged at Jiang Fann, but he was a split second too slow. Jiang Fann struck first, landing a palm on his chest. Instantly, a fiery handprint appeared on the back of the cultivator's clothes, igniting them in a blinding golden light that enveloped him completely.
With the aid of his Medicine Arts, Jiang Fann weakened his opponent's strength, making it easy to injure him. Jiang Fann was merely testing his newfound power after a breakthrough, curious to see how strong he had become. To his surprise, he could effortlessly harness the divine blood within him, which allowed him to unleash even more powerful techniques.
Wu Yang rushed in from outside, feeling the intense heat that was hard to endure. He was shocked to see cultivators sprawled across the ground, including those from the formidable fourth cycle, all injured. Even the strongest among them was engulfed in flames, struggling as his Body Protecting Spiritual Treasure activated to shield him.
Wan Chengfeng laughed heartily, "You've definitely gotten stronger."
The three cultivators from the fourth cycle weren't so easily subdued by Jiang Fann. Reaching this level meant they were no weaklings; they were merely affected by Jiang Fann's Medicine Arts. Once the effects wore off, the two who had been knocked down got back on their feet, launching their attacks to aid their restrained comrade.
The unconscious monks remained unresponsive, no matter what methods were attempted to wake them.
As the power of the protective spiritual treasure was unleashed, the monk at the fourth level of the Reincarnation Stage tried to break free from Jiang Fann's hold. The Heaven Burning Fire had a significant impact on him, but it wasn't unbearable. Only now did he truly sense the cultivation level of the monk before him. To his surprise, Jiang Fann's spiritual strength was merely at the third level of the Mortal Separating Stage, which was quite puzzling.
With the help of two allies, he threw a punch at Jiang Fann, intending to push him back. However, to his astonishment, Jiang Fann stood his ground and took the punch head-on.
Boom—
The impact of the collision sent the unconscious figures around them flying. Yet, Jiang Fann remained firmly in place, leaving his opponent in shock.
On the other side, Wan Chengfeng was equally surprised by this scene. He had faced this opponent before and knew his combat strength well. Although not as strong as him, the opponent was no pushover. Yet, a direct hit seemed to have little effect on Jiang Fann.
Jiang Fann grabbed his opponent's wrist, lightning flashing as it merged with the Heaven Burning Fire. A series of explosions followed, piercing through the opponent's protective spiritual treasure. His aura quickly weakened, clearly showing that Jiang Fann had completely overpowered him.
Two others rushed to Jiang Fann's side, intending to rescue him, but as soon as they got close, they were blasted away by two fireballs, unable to approach.
The pair quickly scrambled to their feet, exchanged a glance, and without hesitation, bolted toward the exit, clearly planning to escape. Just then, a figure blocked the exit—Wan Chengfeng, who had been on the defensive moments ago. Having waited for a chance to counterattack, he wasn't about to let it slip away.
"Trying to leave? You'll have to get past me first," he said, positioning himself in front of Wu Yang. Wu Yang understood Wan Chengfeng's concern for his safety and wisely stepped back, leaving the area.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fann used his medicine arts in tandem with his strength to seal his opponent's Qi Sea, then turned to charge at one of them, while Wan Chengfeng went after the other. Within a few exchanges, Jiang Fann had already knocked his opponent unconscious. He glanced at Wan Chengfeng, noting the progress he'd made over the years—his skills had improved considerably.
Wan Chengfeng could suppress his opponent but couldn't subdue him as effortlessly as Jiang Fann. With both of his allies captured, the remaining adversary realized that continuing to fight would only lead to more trouble. He wisely backed off, choosing not to retaliate further.
"I give up! There's no point in continuing this fight."
Wan Chengfeng raised an eyebrow at the other person, clearly a bit annoyed, but he didn't pursue the matter further. Instead, he turned his attention to Jiang Fann, obviously curious about his next move.
Jiang Fann walked right up to Wan Chengfeng and looked at the monk, asking, "Who sent you?"
The monk didn't hesitate, responding immediately, "We're from different factions. Wan Chengfeng took our inheritance before, so we've teamed up to deal with him. We're here for him."
Wan Chengfeng was about to say something, but Jiang Fann didn't let him speak. He kept his gaze steady on the monk.
After a brief pause, he continued, "Do you want to end up like them?"
The monk replied, "I'm telling the truth. Wan Chengfeng has been fighting for inheritances all over the place for years, offending so many people he probably can't even keep track. We're just responding to that. Is that not allowed? Your Heaven Pavilion is a bit too domineering."
Jiang Fann's body glowed red as he approached the monk, clearly not buying his story.
As Jiang Fann got closer, the monk's eyes flickered with a hint of panic, clearly wary of Jiang Fann.
When Jiang Fann's aura shifted, invoking the Devil God Spell, the monk frowned and said, "Dark arts? What... what are you planning to do?"
Jiang Fann smirked, looking at him with disdain.
"Since you're not cooperating, I'll have to dig into your memories myself. If I accidentally damage your mind and you end up a fool, I'll be sure to apologize."
Jiang Fann's dark arts exerted immense pressure on the man, who finally resorted to slapping his own forehead, knocking himself out cold. This unexpected move caught Jiang Fann by surprise.
Wan Chengfeng stepped forward, staring at the unconscious figure on the ground with a puzzled expression. "You think he's done for?"
Jiang Fann chuckled, "He's a cultivator at the Reincarnation Stage; there's no way he'd die so easily. He just sealed off his consciousness to keep me from probing his memories. The more he resists, the more I suspect he's lying. But I have a pretty good idea who sent them."
