C2649 Patience
C2649 Patience
Cheng Mo's father finally felt at ease. On his way here, he had doubted Jiang Fann's identity, wondering if he was an imposter. But now, it seemed Jiang Fann was the real deal; his demeanor hadn't changed at all.
Tao Zhen was apparently unaware of Jiang Fann's decision to take on apprentices. Jiang Fann said directly, "Let those young people come over."
Tao Zhen replied, "That kid named Wang Wuyin brought a girl along. She's got decent potential, so I've included her in the Heaven Pavilion. Should I call her over too?"
Jiang Fann shook his head and said, "I know about the girl. Just find a good mentor for her later. Bring Cheng Mo and Wang Wuyin over. They've fallen behind, and they need to catch up quickly."
Cheng Mo's father offered, "I'll go get them. They should be together now. Then I'll be on my way. If Cheng Mo acts up in the future, just give him a good scolding. Just don't kill him."
Jiang Fann laughed, "No need for that. I'll guide him as best as I can."
After Cheng Mo left, Tao Zhen looked Zhang Shuang up and down, puzzled. The two who had arrived earlier had some level of cultivation, but Zhang Shuang was just an ordinary person. The spiritual strength he had was only due to the aid of elixirs. Tao Zhen couldn't understand why Jiang Fann had brought him back.
Jiang Fann extended his spiritual sense toward the direction of the back mountain, then asked, "Where's Xiao Mo? Why isn't she on the mountain?"
"A rift opened in the southern sky this morning, and some cultivators broke through. The master has already gone to assist, but reports indicate that the rift was closed about an hour ago without any losses. The intruding cultivators retreated back to their world."
Hearing this, Jiang Fann couldn't help but feel a bit puzzled. He had spent nearly a month searching for disciples and hadn't heard any news of invasions. Yet, one occurred just this morning.
As Jiang Fann pondered, Cheng Mo and Wang Wuyin arrived at the main hall, now dressed in the Heaven Pavilion disciples' attire, looking sharp and upright. Among the three, Wang Wuyin was the eldest. He stepped forward and knelt before Jiang Fann.
"Disciple Wang Wuyin greets Master," he said respectfully.
Jiang Fann smiled, "Stand up. From today, among the three of you, you'll be the eldest, Zhao Shuang will be second, and Cheng Mo third. I hope you'll support each other and not let me down."
In unison, the three responded, "We understand, Master!"
Looking at the three young people before him, Jiang Fann felt a wave of emotion. He addressed them, "You have other senior brothers and sisters, but they're not at the Heaven Pavilion right now. You'll meet them in the future. I'm going to seclude myself to refine a batch of elixirs. You three will assist me. I'll pass on my knowledge of alchemy to you. How much you grasp depends on your own understanding."
After speaking, he turned to Zhang Shuang: "Before I go into seclusion, you need to get started with your cultivation. Improve as quickly as possible. I'll prepare some elixirs for you. Try to catch up on your cultivation before the big world undergoes any changes."
Zhang Shuang nodded: "I will follow your instructions."
Jiang Fann led the three away from the main hall to the back mountain, introducing them to the Heaven Supporting Divine Wood. He instructed them to train there regularly, honing their skills while being nourished by the Natural Aura, which would enhance their sensitivity to wood spiritual strength.
After Tao Zhen saw off Cheng Mo's father, he noticed Xiao Mo arriving with the old dragon at the teleportation array. Judging by their relaxed demeanor, it seemed their trip had gone smoothly.
Xiao Mo and the others reached the back mountain, just in time to see Jiang Fann guiding the three young people.
Approaching, Xiao Mo said to Jiang Fann, "The outsiders who came this time weren't very advanced in their cultivation, only at the peak of the Mortal Separating Stage. They seemed more like scouts. As soon as they appeared, several human cultivators teamed up to restrain them. When I arrived, I scared them off immediately. They didn't linger for even a moment, suggesting they had some ulterior motive."
The three young people were stunned by Xiao Mo's words. To hear that someone at the peak of the Mortal Separating Stage was considered not very advanced was astonishing.
Jiang Fann remained calm and said, "If it was just a scout, it seems someone from the other world is indeed testing my response."
The voice of the Purple Jade Eagle rang out: "Young Master, as long as Little Dot and I are by your side, they'll definitely come. It's just a matter of time, so we need to plan ahead."
Jiang Fann looked at Xiao Mo and said directly, "I'll need your help for a while. I might have to take these guys into seclusion for a few days."
Xiao Mo quickly replied, "Master, there's no need to say that. It's my duty. You can focus on your retreat. I'll contact you immediately if anything comes up."
At that moment, the Old Dragon was floating in front of the three of them, curiously observing. To him, their potential seemed incredibly low, so low that even with Jiang Fann's help using elixirs, awakening their bloodline seemed unlikely.
He couldn't help but ask, "Why waste your time on them? Why make things difficult for yourself?"
Jiang Fann raised an eyebrow and said, "I think you're the one looking for trouble."
Hearing this, the Old Dragon quickly shut his mouth, not daring to provoke Jiang Fann further.
What surprised Jiang Fann was that Wang Wuyin and the others showed no reaction to the Old Dragon's words, almost as if they agreed with him.
Jiang Fann addressed them, "What you're learning from me is the art of alchemy, which isn't related to your cultivation potential. The reason for your training is to become powerful alchemists in the future. So, no matter what anyone says, don't slack off. I believe in you all."

Old Long finally understood Jiang Fann's thoughts. The potential of an alchemist isn't something you can see right away, but he knew Jiang Fann had a solid foundation in alchemy. He trusted that Jiang Fann's judgment wouldn't be wrong.
"So, these are future alchemists. If you chose them, they must have potential."
Jiang Fann guided the three young individuals, teaching them the basics of alchemy and cultivation with great patience and dedication. To his surprise, over the course of more than a month, his own mindset experienced growth.
...
In the vast world.
Mountain of Gods.
A cultivator from the Purple Jade Eagle Clan, who had been residing on the back mountain for a month, couldn't wait any longer and headed straight to the main hall of the God Clan at the mountain's peak.
The Great Elder had arrived before them, as the one-month agreement had come to an end. During this time, no other news had surfaced, and it was clear that none of the clans were in a hurry to act. They didn't want to risk anything, as there were indeed powerful figures in the distant lands.
The elder of the Purple Jade Eagle Clan spoke directly, "Do we really need to keep waiting? I don't think it's necessary anymore."
Hearing this, the Great Elder of the God Clan nodded in agreement.
"I'll consult with the clan leader, and then we can head down the mountain together to set up the formation."
"We've wasted a month for nothing. Jiang Fann provoked us first, so it's only right for us to reclaim what's ours. Your God Clan needn't worry too much, as he has a good relationship with your clan and is rumored to share your bloodline. He might not make things difficult for you."
The Elder frowned at his counterpart, "Stop with the snide remarks. We have no idea where our clan's branches have gone, and we can't back down to the humans. I must retrieve my spiritual body. Just make sure you don't hold us back."
Upon entering the grand hall, the Elder addressed the leader directly, "We're ready. Six of us at the Reincarnation Stage will go. With Zitian Ji and me teaming up, handling a Reincarnation Stage cultivator who can't use their full strength shouldn't be an issue. As long as we're cautious, we should manage."
The leader frowned, "I think I should go with you. According to the Giant Strength Clan, there are at least two peak Reincarnation Stage cultivators. I'm not entirely confident with just a few of you going."
The Elder replied, "We can't leave the Mountain of Gods without a strong presence. The younger ones can't keep the other clans in check."
"No worries, this is just a probe. If we can't retrieve the spiritual body, we'll retreat and plan again. There's no need to risk everything in the Nine Desolations. We'll have plenty of opportunities in the future."
The Elder hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded, agreeing with the leader's suggestion. It's crucial to be wary of the number of experts in the Nine Desolations.
The leader then personally ordered the clans below to set up a teleportation array at the mountain's base, connecting the two realms. They were instructed to complete it quickly, regardless of the resources needed. For the God Clan, these resources were insignificant, as the various clans within their territory contributed weekly, eliminating the need to gather from outside.
A few days later, the formation was completed. The clan leader led the top warriors from both clans down the mountain, heading to the vicinity of the formation. They waited for it to activate, intending to tear open a spatial rift and use it to travel to the Nine Wilds to meet Jiang Fann.
On the other side of the vast world, where Golden Jade City once stood, three figures now stood amidst the ruins, their brows furrowed. These figures looked no different from humans, except for the red divine markings on their faces, a trait of their bloodline from the Crimson Mark Clan.
The man leading them had reached the seventh level of the Reincarnation Stage. Upon awakening, their first task was to seek trouble with the Golden Eye Clan, aiming to reclaim their clan's treasures. However, the Golden Eye Clan had vanished without a trace, leaving no clues as to when they disappeared.
Behind the three, battle puppets exuded a formidable aura. "Damn it... It seems the Golden Eye Clan has been gone for a long time, likely hiding from us on purpose."
"The Golden Eye Clan is always troublesome, but they can't hide forever. Last time, it wasn't just the Golden Eye Clan cultivators who provoked us, but also that human cultivator."
"I've already investigated. The human cultivator closest to the Golden Eye Clan comes from the Nine Wilds and is named Jiang Fann. He trained in the vast world for a while and is quite difficult to deal with. Recently, the Giant Strength Clan mentioned Jiang Fann in their reports. Do you think the Golden Eye Clan might have sought refuge with Jiang Fann in the Nine Wilds to avoid us?"
The leader of the Red Mark clan experts nodded, "It's not entirely out of the question, but how do we handle a cultivator at the peak of the Reincarnation Stage? We need to plan this carefully and see if any other groups have an interest in the Nine Desolations. Maybe we can find an opportunity in that."
