Reborn Medicine King

C2631 Tianqing Giant Bear

C2631 Tianqing Giant Bear

2Wan Chengfeng was clearly familiar with this place. As they approached the formation, they sensed the presence of other practitioners nearby—three in total, all at the Mortal Separating Stage. Instead of revealing themselves, they observed from a distance to assess the situation.

Three figures came into view, channeling their energy into the formation on the cliff. However, they weren't trying to enter or destroy it; they were reinforcing it with another layer of protection. The trio wore identical outfits, and Jiang Fann and Wan recognized them as members of the Heaven Pavilion. The Heaven Pavilion often managed the entrances to secret realms, notifying various factions before they opened to maintain order. This practice was common among many groups, and these individuals were no exception.

Wan Chengfeng turned to Jiang Fann and asked, "Should we go over there directly, or wait for them to leave?"

Jiang Fann replied, "They probably won't stay long, and the reinforcement hasn't drained much spiritual strength. There's no need for them to know we're entering while the realm is closed."

Wan Chengfeng chuckled, "Even if you told people about your ability, not many would believe it."

Due to their cultivation level, the three couldn't detect Jiang Fann and Wan's presence. By evening, the trio finished reinforcing the formation and flew away together.

Jiang Fann and his companion arrived without attempting to break the formation or assimilate the spiritual strength. To save time, Jiang Fann summoned the Galaxy Cauldron and entered it, using its power to proceed.

This time, their goal was clear: Jiang Fann was after the demon of the Bone Realm. He had already informed Gu Xie to be ready to act at any moment. The powerful spatial barrier seemed ineffective against the Galaxy Cauldron's properties. The cauldron entered effortlessly and vanished into the canyon, rendering the reinforced formation by the Heaven Pavilion useless.

Once Jiang Fann and his companion exited the Galaxy Cauldron, they found themselves in a hidden realm. Wan Chengfeng looked around and frowned. "The spiritual strength here is so thin, much weaker than when I was last here."

Jiang Fann chuckled, "When these hidden realms aren't activated, the spiritual strength is suppressed within the natural order or some formation. Once activated, it fully unleashes. Otherwise, people with skills like mine could enter early and do whatever they wanted, leaving nothing for others to compete for the so-called final inheritance. But this time, our goal is clear. We're here for that demon, nothing else matters."

"True enough," Wan Chengfeng agreed, then took to the air in the direction of the seal, with Jiang Fann following closely behind.

On their journey, the two encountered a slumbering demonic beast, one at the peak of the Mortal Separating Stage. It was quite formidable, yet its spiritual strength seemed dormant, as if in a deep sleep.

Wan Chengfeng explained, "These beasts go into a state akin to hibernation when the secret realm closes. It's tough to wake them up."

As they flew, Jiang Fann asked, "You mentioned that the demon was sealed. I'm curious, how did you get in and out? Back then, you probably weren't as powerful as you are now, right?"

"The seal is quite unique. It only affects the demon, not other practitioners or beasts. I could come and go freely, but the moment the demon got close, runes would appear in the void, exerting a strong suppression. The bone soldiers it summoned would turn to dust upon touching the barrier, so it didn't dare approach."

"How long ago was your last visit?"

"Over two hundred years ago. I was much younger then. The demon's been sealed here for many years, likely by some prominent figure of the past. Did you notice the formation at the entrance? The experts here were quite skilled in formations back then; otherwise, they couldn't have trapped a demon of the Bone Realm, especially one with royal blood."

Jiang Fann activated his Divine Eye, and indeed, he could see many remnants of formations throughout the secret realm.

Some intricate patterns were carved into the tree trunks and the boulders by the roadside. If they were all activated, who knows what might happen?

However, Jiang Fann didn't stop. He followed closely behind Wan Chengfeng, intending to check out the peculiar seal. After flying for an entire day, Wan Chengfeng finally landed with Jiang Fann, not at the seal's location, but because they had discovered several skeletons on the ground. These belonged to various kinds of demonic beasts.

Judging by the state of the bones, they had been dead for a long time. It seemed as if all life force had been completely absorbed, leaving no trace of flesh behind.

Jiang Fann stood up and asked Wan Chengfeng, "Wasn't the demon sealed? Who did this?"

Wan Chengfeng shook his head, unsure of what kind of power was responsible. It didn't seem like the work of ordinary practitioners. Jiang Fann steadied himself, feeling a sense of foreboding.

"How far is it to the seal?"

"About half an hour's journey."

"Then let's go!"

With that, Wan Chengfeng took off again, with Jiang Fann right behind him.

Near a clearing, Wan Chengfeng landed and led Jiang Fann to the edge. He pointed out something to Jiang Fann.

"Look at the patterns on the tree trunks around the clearing."

Jiang Fann approached the edge and noticed that the trunks of the surrounding trees were etched with complex patterns. These patterns connected the trees' energies, creating an invisible balance. This, he realized, was the seal Wan Chengfeng had mentioned.

Under the night sky, the two of them looked toward the clearing, but there was no one in sight.

Mansheng Feng frowned and said, "How is this possible? Could someone have come and taken him out? But how could that be? If they could destroy him, they wouldn't have just sealed him here."

Jiang Fann stepped into the clearing, using his Golden Eye of Fire to scan the surroundings. He noticed spiritual barriers hidden among the trees, radiating a strong, pure energy. This energy didn't affect regular practitioners but was highly effective against dark practitioners, which included the demon they were dealing with.

Soon, Jiang Fann spotted a gap and headed in that direction. Mansheng Feng followed, certain this was where he had encountered the Bone Realm royalty before.

The clearing was surrounded by barriers, except for a gap. Upon reaching it, Jiang Fann immediately saw the issue. A tree, engraved with protective runes, had been broken. The tree's diameter was over ten feet, and the break suggested it was snapped by some powerful force.

Mansheng Feng remarked, "Was the seal really this weak? Break a tree, and the demon gets loose?"

"Are there any large creatures in this area? Judging by the damage, it seems like something with immense strength. The runes were supposed to enhance the tree's defense, but it still couldn't withstand the force. This creature must be at least at the Reincarnation Stage."

Upon hearing what Jiang Fann said, Wan Chengfeng pondered for a moment before something suddenly clicked.

"There aren't many demonic beasts above the Reincarnation Stage in this secret realm, but there is one that fits your description. It's the guardian beast of this realm, a Sky Blue Giant Bear. It would make sense for it to help suppress the demon. But why would it help him escape?"

Jiang Fann asked, "Do you know where it is?"

"I do. When I was competing for the final inheritance, I passed through its territory and even saw it once. Follow me!"

With that, Wan Chengfeng turned and started walking.

As they traveled, he explained the situation of the Sky Blue Giant Bear to Jiang Fann. It was a demonic beast at the fourth level of the Reincarnation Stage, incredibly powerful, capable of causing the ground to shake with a mere stomp. Its massive size made it look like a small mountain from a distance. It was left here by the sect that once occupied this place, tasked with guarding the sealed demon.

They followed Wan Chengfeng to a forest, where he stopped and looked around, clearly searching for something. The forest was vast, but according to Wan Chengfeng's description, the Sky Blue Giant Bear should be enormous and easily noticeable even in such a large forest.

"Why isn't it here?" he exclaimed, then flew further into the forest, convinced that this was indeed the bear's territory.

After another ten minutes of flying, they finally spotted a small green hill coming into view.

Wan Chengfeng looked pleased and said to Jiang Fann, "I knew we wouldn't miss the place."

Just as he was about to fly over, Jiang Fann stopped him. "Wan, something's off about that creature's aura."

Wan Chengfeng extended his senses in that direction, and his eyes widened when he felt the energy emanating from the giant bear.

"How can this be?"

Jiang Fann pulled him higher into the sky, and they flew above the giant bear. From their vantage point, they saw that the bear's eyes were vacant, and its chest was covered with golden bones. The bear was lifeless, its vitality gone. The golden bones pierced through its body, manipulating it like a puppet, sitting there motionless.

In front of the bear lay a field of demonic beast skeletons, a chilling sight. Beneath the pile of bones, a faint golden glow flickered—a golden skeleton with menacing bone spurs, resting and unaware of the two observers above.

"It's here, just as we thought!"

Jiang Fann turned to Wan Chengfeng. "Wan, let my team handle what's below. You can watch the battle from here, but don't get involved. The creature's tricks can be troublesome. You might also want to scout around and assess the situation."

Wan Chengfeng looked at the massive bear's corpse, feeling a bit frustrated.

"I don't have anywhere specific to go, but I didn't expect this mighty bear to meet such an end. I can't figure out why it let the other side escape."

Jiang Fann didn't know how to respond. The exact reason was probably something only the bear understood. Now, with its death, the Bone Realm royalty had gained an advantage, significantly boosting their power.

Wan Chengfeng's expression turned serious as he thought of something. "Jiang, we need to eliminate that Bone Clan member as soon as possible. If we hadn't discovered him now, by the time the secret realm opens, he could wreak havoc within it and eventually break out, causing chaos everywhere."
