C2555 Healing
C2555 Healing
Guo Xu's Qi Sea and meridians were strong, reaching the peak of the Mortal Separating Stage. However, his physical body appeared lifeless, and the surrounding spiritual strength no longer invigorated him, which was indeed peculiar.
Jiang Fann gathered the Natural Aura and slowly infused it into Guo Xu. Under the nurturing of this aura, Guo Xu's complexion improved slightly, but the Natural Aura couldn't sustain itself within him for long.
If they were in a place like the Heaven Supporting Divine Wood, Jiang Fann could have suggested Guo Xu train nearby for a while. The divine wood's environment might have nourished his body, potentially restoring much of his life expectancy and extending his lifespan.
However, Jiang Fann soon discovered the root of the problem. The meridians near Guo Xu's Qi Sea were slightly damaged. The wounds weren't large, but his own spiritual strength couldn't repair them. It seemed to be a lingering injury from some powerful force. Jiang Fann had experienced similar injuries before, though his were much more severe.
After examining the entire network of meridians and the Qi Sea, Jiang Fann seemed to grasp the issue and proceeded to ask Guo Xu about it.
"Your abilities were artificially boosted after receiving some kind of legacy, right?" Jiang Fann asked, as if uncovering a secret. Guo Xu looked a bit embarrassed but nodded in agreement with Jiang Fann's observation.
Jiang Fann continued, "The price for that legacy was your life expectancy. You didn't anticipate the consequences would be this severe. The life force wasn't given to someone else; it was used as a medium to absorb spiritual strength. You probably wanted to gain more from the legacy, so you didn't control it. Once your abilities stabilized, you ended up like this, and now it's irreversible."
Guo Xu stared at Jiang Fann, earnestly saying, "Jiang Fann, you're truly impressive. If I didn't know we hadn't met before, I'd suspect you were there during the legacy. I admit I was greedy for the quick boost in power and didn't consider the consequences would be so dire!"
"If I had to choose again, I definitely wouldn't make the same choice. I would have been more cautious."
He became a bit emotional and cautiously asked Jiang Fann, "Is there any way to save me?"
Jiang Fann remained calm and replied, "Treatment isn't the issue. Although you've lost some life expectancy, it's not impossible to recover. However..."
Hearing that Jiang Fann could help, Guo Xu was overjoyed and quickly asked, "Can my life expectancy really be restored?"
Jiang Fann said, "Don't get ahead of yourself. There are many ways to restore life expectancy, but first, we need to heal your internal injuries. That's not difficult for me, but it will forcibly realign your energy pathways. This means you'll lose the abilities you gained from the legacy, making it all for nothing and nearly costing you your life."
He looked at Guo Xu and continued, "Whether to treat it or not, that's your decision to make."
Jiang Fann's meaning was clear. In his view, gaining such power so easily came with a price, and for Guo Xu, that price was steep. He had underestimated the severity of the cost.
Guo Xu hardly hesitated. "Please, Jiang Fann, help me. I can regain my strength over time, but life is something you only get once."
Jiang Fann nodded, agreeing with his choice. What good is having immense power if you can't live to use it?
"Good decision. There's a silver lining, though. While your abilities will revert to what they were before you inherited them, your mindset won't be affected. This means your future training will be faster and almost free of obstacles."
Guo Xu wasn't overly excited by this. For him, just staying alive was a dream come true.
Jiang Fann wasted no time. Treating Guo Xu's condition didn't require any special potions; his own immense power was enough.
"Don't resist my energy. Leave the rest to me. Healing this kind of injury isn't pleasant, so brace yourself. As for the risks, don't worry. My strength is enough to keep you safe."
Guo Xu nodded and said earnestly, "Thank you, healer."
Jiang Fann had no intention of moving to another spot. With so many people around, he focused his spiritual strength to make Guo Xu float in front of him and began healing him right there.
Jiang Fann concentrated, and a few silver needles appeared in his hand. He used his spiritual strength to guide the needles to several key points on Guo Xu's body, sealing his Qi Sea to prevent his spiritual energy from causing any backlash. This precaution was necessary because Guo Xu's abilities were not weak.
From the start of the treatment, Jiang Fann had already infused Guo Xu with the Natural Aura to stabilize his life force. This aura invigorated Guo Xu's physical functions significantly.
However, this was just the beginning.
Having observed enough, Jiang Fann quickly identified the locations of Guo Xu's internal injuries. He marked them and began the healing process. The most direct method was to break the damaged areas on either side of the injury and then use his own power, based on Guo Xu's true blood, to restore the damaged meridians to their original state.
Years ago, when Jiang Fann's abilities were still developing, he discovered the healing properties of the Natural Aura. Over time, his skills had grown immensely, and he had successfully become an immortal herbalist. Such minor injuries were now easily within his capability to heal.
Guo Xu had numerous small internal injuries, and as they healed, his meridians and energy center contracted, which explained the drop in his power level. Each time an injury healed, the aura he emitted weakened slightly. The decline was surprisingly rapid, yet his aura was also noticeably recovering, and his appearance was gradually improving. With the help of the natural aura, restoring his looks wasn't difficult.
The onlookers were stunned. They had clearly heard Guo Xu describe his condition earlier, and none of the major kingdoms or the Alchemy Sect could solve his problem. Yet, Jiang Fann seemed to handle it effortlessly. Although it was just the beginning, the results were promising enough to dispel any doubts about success.
"Who is this Jiang Fann? He can associate with Wan Chengfeng and isn't afraid to offend a royal prince. Plus, he has such a powerful healing technique. Could he be a disciple of some big shot in the Alchemy Sect?"
"If he solved a problem that even the Alchemy Sect couldn't, that's truly astonishing."
...
In the royal city of the Sui Tian Kingdom, three figures hurriedly returned to the second prince's estate. The second prince was surrounded by three scantily clad women, each exuding charm and grace. They were accustomed to such scenes and knew their master well.
The Second Prince asked, "Did you three come back because you have news about that person?"
The leading man replied respectfully, "We've identified who he is, but we haven't uncovered his background yet. We only know that the person traveling with him was Fang Xiang from the Nine Heavens Pavilion, and his name is Jiang Fann. He's been spotted in the capital of the Central Dynasty."
"The Central Dynasty? How did he end up there?"
With that, he stood up abruptly, his expression serious, clearly recalling the events of that day, still visibly upset.
"We're not sure about that either, but Fang Xiang is still with him. I've already sent people to keep an eye on the city. Do you have any other instructions, Your Highness? We'll get right on it."
"If he's hiding in the capital, I'll have to go there myself. Get ready, we might lose him this time."
Hearing the Second Prince's words, the leading man couldn't help but feel a bit worried.
"I must remind you, it's not like the Qian Dynasty there. We can't act recklessly in the Central Dynasty."
The Second Prince, a bit impatient, replied, "Do I need you to teach me the rules? I have plenty of ways to deal with that scoundrel, but we need to find him first."
"When should we leave?"
The Second Prince glanced back at the three beauties, then suddenly embraced them.
He mumbled, "This afternoon is fine. It won't take long to get there with the teleportation array."
"Alright, we'll head out now."
With that, the three quickly left the room, careful not to disturb any further.
In the bustling marketplace of the capital city, two hours had passed since Jiang Fann began his treatment. Unlike the surrounding noise, the area around his stall was surprisingly quiet, filled with people watching Guo Xu's transformation.
After two hours, Guo Xu had visibly aged backward from an elderly appearance to that of a middle-aged man. Jiang Fann showed no signs of stopping, fully immersed in his work, not uttering a single word.
However, Guo Xu's abilities had decreased from the peak of the Mortal Separating Stage to its fourth level, and his aura was significantly weaker than before. Even Wan Chengfeng was intently observing Jiang Fann's healing, finding it fascinating. He knew Jiang Fann would need to assist him later as well.
Despite feeling the decline in his abilities, Guo Xu didn't seem upset. In fact, he looked quite healthy. Each time Jiang Fann severed his meridians, it was akin to enduring the pain of having flesh cut away, yet Guo Xu remained silent, showing no sign of discomfort. It was clear he was a tough individual.
As his appearance continued to rejuvenate, someone in the crowd recognized him. "No wonder his name sounded familiar. He was that prodigy from fifty years ago, who burst onto the scene. But then, he seemed to fade into obscurity. Haven't heard his name in the last couple of decades."
"Oh, it was that guy, Guo Xu! I saw him once thirty years ago. I wonder what he's been through since then."
