Zhu Yan quickly nodded. "Sure, of course. But are you sure this is a collaboration in alchemy and not just you teaching me?"
"Whatever it is, once this is done, I have plans to go elsewhere with Fang Xiang. There won't be many chances to work with you after that. But for now, you'll be busy. You've made quite a few connections with alchemists at the recent competition. If you seize the opportunity, you could really improve."
"Emperor-grade alchemists don't usually reach out to me, but I underestimated you. At your age, reaching the level of an Emperor-grade alchemist is impressive."
Zhu Yan was clearly unsettled. As an alchemist himself, he understood the significance of Jiang Fann's mastery. Many high-ranking alchemists spend their entire lives trying to reach this level.
"My situation is a bit unique, so don't worry too much about it. You should prepare as well; this elixir will take twenty-one days to refine."
"How about we attend the welcome banquet first? There's still time, and it would be a shame to let all that good food and drink go to waste. Besides, you might need some time to gather the remaining materials."
Jiang Fann nodded. He hadn't eaten in a while, and being in such a unique place as Fire Melt Valley, he was eager to try the local specialties and see how they tasted.
Zhu Yan left first, leaving Zhu Ying and Jiang Fann alone in the cave.
Zhu Ying finally asked Jiang Fann, "Can my condition really be cured?"
Jiang Fann replied, "Condition? It's not really an illness. It's more like a unique innate ability. Here in the Valley of Fire, your power is endless. It's just that the energy isn't entirely compatible for you to control. I think you could have advanced long ago, right? Your ancestor wants you to maintain your current level, doesn't he?"
Zhu Ying nodded.
"When treating me, the innate fire within me can backfire. If I continue to advance, it becomes nearly impossible for any healer to manage. We almost had an incident before, so the ancestor hopes my brother can quickly improve his alchemy skills. Our family has a high resistance to fire, and they hope he can solve my problem in the future."
"With your brother's potential, becoming a top-tier alchemist isn't an issue, but solving your problem is a bit more challenging. However, it's within my control. Rest assured, I've helped others reconstruct their energy pathways before, and I've even tried it on myself. I can definitely help you resolve this issue completely."
"Let's hope you really can..."
Zhu Ying still seemed skeptical.
"Using high-grade elixirs can significantly reduce the risk. If we weren't short on materials, I would spend more time crafting a perfect remedy for you to ensure absolute safety."
"Immortal herb? Are you an immortal herb master? Didn't you tell my brother you were a high-rank herb master?"
Jiang Fann chuckled, "I just wanted to boost your confidence a bit. Let's just say I'm an immortal herb master. Besides, I'll teach you a fire control technique. Practice it well while I'm working on the herbs these next few days."
"My ancestor taught me many fire arts and control techniques."
"His are different from mine. Don't slack off. With your talent, you should master it perfectly in about twenty days. Then I'll explain its purpose."
With that, Jiang Fann found a piece of spiritual jade, imprinted a technique into it, and handed it over.
Though she didn't fully grasp Jiang Fann's intent, she accepted it and immediately infused it with her spiritual sense. The technique imprinted in her mind was of high quality.
She began to practice the newly acquired technique right there, and Jiang Fann could clearly sense the change in spiritual strength around her. With just a glance, she had already grasped the basics and was exploring its patterns!
The girl furrowed her brow slightly, continuing to practice, muttering, "Doesn't seem that hard..."
"Truly a top-tier talent for fire arts. It's hard to imagine what level you'll reach once you break free from your constraints."
...
At the welcome feast, Zhu Yan introduced many family members to Jiang Fann, including several of his relatives. From Zhu Yan's expression, it was clear he was delighted to be back in Fire Valley.
The delicacies of Fire Melt Valley are truly unique, as the vegetation here is infused with a strong fire energy, providing noticeable benefits. For those practicing Fire Arts, it's an excellent supplement. Even the drinks have similar effects. When Zhu Rong appeared, he tossed Jiang Fann a Hundred Treasures Bag filled with the materials needed for his alchemy. Jiang Fann checked it with his Spiritual Sense and noticed that Zhu Rong had thoughtfully included extra materials, ensuring Jiang Fann's success and showing great trust in him.
After the welcome feast, Jiang Fann joined Zhu Rong and Zhu Yan in a cave, where he summoned several pill furnaces. He shared some tips on crafting the pill with Zhu Yan, emphasizing that the outcome would depend on Zhu Yan's own understanding.
Wasting no time, Jiang Fann took out all the materials, making them float above them with his Spiritual Strength. Seeing the variety of ingredients, Zhu Yan remarked, "No wonder it's a high-rank pill; it requires so many high-quality herbs. Is this everything?"
Jiang Fann replied, "Not quite. There are some common herbs I already have. Here's the pill recipe; take it." With that, he tossed a piece of spiritual jade to Zhu Yan.
Zhu Yan eagerly took the item and sensed its contents. "High Rank, Grade Three, Nine-Turn Vein Molding Pill!" He turned to Jiang Fann, exclaiming, "Who is this pill for? It's so extravagant! Is it for the ancestor?"
Zhu Rong interjected, "Mind your own business and focus on learning the art of alchemy. Don't waste this precious opportunity. If someone else were teaching you, they wouldn't personally guide you in crafting such high-quality pills."
Zhu Yan, clearly not daring to argue, listened intently to Jiang Fann's instructions. Jiang Fann began with the basics, guiding him through each step with meticulous care. After working with Jiang Fann, Zhu Yan could only describe his alchemy skills as incredibly detailed, with every subtle adjustment perfectly influencing the transformation of the materials.
Zhu Rong observed from the sidelines. Although he wasn't particularly interested in alchemy, he could gauge Jiang Fann's level through his pill-making process. This was a High Rank, Grade Three pill, nearly the highest quality available. Master alchemists were rare, and even they hadn't successfully crafted many immortal herbs. High Rank pills were already extremely challenging.
Yet, Jiang Fann remained remarkably composed throughout the process. He moved seamlessly, without hesitation or the need for corrections, as if he had done it countless times before. This left Zhu Rong increasingly amazed. With just one set of materials, the pill was complete. Through his Spiritual Sense, he could perceive the situation inside the pill furnace: three pills, all with stable auras.
As for Zhu Yan, from the very start of the pill refining process, he was completely captivated. He focused intently, not daring to ask Jiang Fann any questions. He made mental notes of the intricate details, planning to ask Jiang Fann about them once the process was over.
Jiang Fann, on the other hand, appeared relaxed and unpressured. Watching Zhu Yan's serious observation, he couldn't help but offer a reminder: "If you have any questions, feel free to ask now. The pill has already stabilized after forming, and it will be a long time before any changes occur. You just need to keep a part of your focus on it."
Hearing this, Zhu Yan was eager to inquire. "Before the pill formed, when the materials were coming together, I noticed your fire suddenly increased in temperature, and it seemed to trigger something..."
Zhu Yan earnestly described some of the details from the refining process, sincerely seeking Jiang Fann's guidance. Jiang Fann patiently shared his experiences and thoughts, and Zhu Yan, after listening, immediately asked another question. Throughout, he kept an eye on the pill in the furnace, his excitement evident.
...
In the blink of an eye, Jiang Fann and Zhu Yan had been secluded in their refining for over two weeks, with the elder also present but not showing himself.
Early one morning, a figure appeared outside the valley. This person wasn't a member of the Zhu family, but they wore a token at their waist, a sign from Zhu Yan, so the Zhu family members didn't stop them from entering the valley.
The person who arrived wasn't a stranger; it was Fang Xiang, who had just returned from a nearby perilous area. He looked a bit worse for wear, with his clothes badly torn and several serious wounds on his body, as if he had been through a tough battle. Despite this, he wore a broad smile, clearly in high spirits.
Upon reaching the edge of the fiery valley, Fang Xiang leaped forward, soaring into the valley below. This wasn't his first visit, and he carried a token from Zhu Yan, so the cultivators in the valley didn't stop him. They weren't particularly interested in Fang Xiang, as he didn't possess the unique flames that Jiang Fann did.
He had planned to use a Spirit Attached Jade to locate Jiang Fann, but after a careful search, he realized Jiang Fann's presence had vanished. It seemed Jiang Fann had entered a restricted area, cutting off his spiritual aura.
As Fang Xiang walked through the valley, he spotted a young man from the Zhu family.
"Hey, can you help me find Zhu Ying?" he asked.
"Why are you looking for Zhu Ying? She rarely meets with outsiders," the young man replied.
Fang Xiang didn't hesitate. He pulled out a red spiritual stone and handed it over. "I'd appreciate your help."
The young man accepted the stone, visibly pleased. "Wait here, I'll go find her for you."
"Thanks a lot!" Fang Xiang said.
With the incentive of the stone, the young man quickly located Zhu Ying and informed her of Fang Xiang's whereabouts.
Zhu Ying had a strong impression of Fang Xiang, especially since he came with Jiang Fann and had a good relationship with her brother. When she saw Fang Xiang covered in injuries, she was a bit surprised.
"How did you get so hurt?"
Fang Xiang, however, didn't seem to care about that. He reached into his bag and pulled out a red egg about a foot in diameter. Under the influence of the valley's energy, the egg glowed red, hinting at the life inside and emitting a strong aura.
Zhu Ying was clearly delighted at the sight and quickly asked, "Is there a spirit beast inside?"
Fang Xiang replied, "I'm not sure if it's a spirit beast or a demonic beast. I brought it out from the core of a dangerous area. It's been bonded with me since it was young, which is much better than trying to capture a spirit beast out there."
