C2614 Three Realms!
C2614 Three Realms!
Jiang Fann stood up and first checked his own spiritual strength, ensuring the barrier no longer resisted him. By now, Wan Chengfeng and his companion had fully recovered and seemed to be in good spirits.
"Why does this barrier have such a strange energy? It feels like you've turned into something sinister. It's a bit terrifying. Could there be something evil lurking in this restricted area? Or is the person behind it all actually malevolent?"
Jiang Fann replied, "I’m not sure yet. We’ll have to see for ourselves. Are you both ready?"
"We don’t have much to prepare. We’ll follow your lead."
Jiang Fann enveloped the two with his spiritual strength and led them toward the barrier, attempting to pass through it.
In an instant, a chilling sensation enveloped them, and the energy felt unsettling. Even more frightening was the moment they entered the barrier; it was as if they were plunged into darkness, with everything ahead unknown.
Jiang Fann extended his spiritual sense, but it was confined to a small area, unable to perceive what lay beyond. He remained alert to any changes in the surrounding energy, ready to find a way to evade any powerful force that might approach.
Wan Chengfeng's voice echoed in their minds. "Why is this barrier so thick? We’ve been trying to get through for ages!"
Jiang Fann responded, "The strength here far surpasses the previous barriers, and it covers a much larger area. But more importantly, we're moving very slowly right now. I'm worried something might go wrong, so I'm being extra cautious. You saw the explosion caused by the power in that last formation. If something like that happens near us and attacks, we might not make it out alive."
Hearing this, Wan Chengfeng quickly said, "You better be careful..."
Jiang Fann smiled, "Don't worry, I've got it under control."
At this moment, Jiang Fann could only ensure they were heading in the right direction as they continued through the darkness. After staying within the barrier for a few minutes, he sensed its edge. By now, a third of his spiritual strength had been depleted. He had been concerned about not having enough to get through, but it seemed he was overthinking it.
He initially thought that once they passed through the barrier, they'd leave the darkness behind. However, as soon as Jiang Fann crossed it, he found himself still surrounded by endless darkness, unable to see his hand in front of his face. There was no light, but the spiritual energy here was even denser than on the other side of the barrier.
Wan Chengfeng felt the pressure around them lessen significantly, but he still didn't feel at ease.
Jiang Fann instructed the two, "Don't wander off just yet."
With that, Jiang Fann conjured a ball of fire in his hand and sent it flying into the air ahead of them, illuminating a large area so the three of them could at least see their surroundings.
With the barrier right behind them, Jiang Fann knew that if anything went wrong, he could lead them back into the safety of the formation without much trouble. But ahead of them lay an empty expanse, seemingly void of anything. It felt as if they were standing in a space of nothingness, with not even a grain of sand in sight.
"What’s going on? Are we caught in an illusion?" someone wondered aloud.
Jiang Fann had the same initial thought. He quickly tapped into his inner strength to sense everything around them. Unfortunately, they weren't trapped in an illusion; the spiritual energy surrounding them was very real.
Wasting no time, he used his Divine Eye, hoping to uncover any hidden issues within the space. The Golden Eye of Fire illuminated the area in front of him, but it offered little clarity. They remained enveloped in darkness, with no patterns on the ground and no signs of life. It was an unsettling feeling.
Wan Xin speculated, "Could this be a retreat for some powerful figure? Training in a place like this would definitely allow for complete focus, without any distractions."
Wan Chengfeng nodded in agreement. "That’s possible. It doesn’t seem dangerous here. Should we keep moving forward? We might soon find the barrier leading to the next area."
Jiang Fann said, "Stay close behind me."
He sensed that the Spiritual Treasure of Fairyland wasn't affected here, so without further hesitation, he sprinted forward, with the two others quickly following. They ran for about half an hour, covering a great distance, yet their surroundings remained unchanged. It was an eerie feeling, easy to lose direction. Thankfully, Jiang Fann occasionally left marks of his spiritual strength on the ground, ensuring they could retrace their steps and avoid wandering aimlessly in the dark.
After running for hours with no change in the environment, they hadn't seen anything. Without the marks left behind, Jiang Fann might have doubted whether they were moving at all. He stopped and turned to the others, asking, "This isn't working. Didn't your elders mention any clues about this place?"
Both shook their heads, unable to offer any help. They were even more frightened than Jiang Fann, unaware of the marks he had been leaving. Wan Chengfeng remarked, "If this is just a secluded area, it's way too vast, like it's endless. We're not moving slowly, either."
Wan Xin frowned, "This place is terrifying, like it's not part of our world. Maybe it's the underworld? But even if it were, we should at least see something. Anything would be better than wasting time here."

Hearing what Wan Xin said, Jiang Fann seemed to have thought of something. He infused his spiritual strength into the ground, but it was blocked by an inhibition. The ground wasn't solid, held back by some force. However, his spiritual sense wasn't obstructed as he directed it upwards.
He looked into the endless darkness above and then said to the two, "Maybe you were right after all."
With that, Jiang Fann rose into the air, flying upwards. Since he held a fire mass in his palm, Wan Chengfeng and Wan Xin could see his position and followed him, flying as well. There was no need to stay behind and wait for Jiang Fann.
His spiritual sense probed the situation above, but it was similar to the ground. Still, Jiang Fann was certain that this place couldn't be boundless.
Wan Chengfeng and Wan Xin quickly caught up. Wan Chengfeng channeled his spiritual strength into Wan Xin to reduce her own energy consumption. They didn't know how long they'd be flying, and it would be troublesome if Wan Xin accidentally fell from such a height.
After ascending roughly a few hundred meters, the three of them noticed, by the light of the fire, that mist had suddenly appeared around them. This discovery brought them joy, as it was the first sign of something different since entering this area.
Wan Chengfeng exclaimed excitedly, "Could there be more to this place?"
As they continued upward, the surrounding energy gradually changed. What was once a lifeless force seemed to come alive, becoming more vibrant the higher they went.
In the next moment, the three of them felt as if they had passed through some kind of barrier. Suddenly, they felt lighter, with the pure glow of moonlight shining down from above. It was as if they had stepped into another world.
Beneath their feet, the ground was lush with vegetation, and they found themselves standing on solid earth. Waves of energy rippled around them, indicating the presence of an energy barrier, but it soon settled down.
Jiang Fann quickly marked the ground with an energy imprint, thinking it might be their way out later. They couldn't afford to be careless.
The environment around them had completely transformed, now full of life and dense with greenery. As they extended their awareness, they could sense many forms of life.
However, as the energy beneath them faded, the three of them frowned slightly. Jiang Fann immediately extinguished the fire mass in his hand.
He turned to Wan Chengfeng and said seriously, "Did you feel that?"
Wan Chengfeng nodded, "The energy is so thin, nothing like it was near the barrier. Is this really still the inner valley?"
Though the energy here was somewhat better than outside the barrier of the Dry Thunder Sect's secret realm, it wasn't significantly stronger. The sparse energy made recovery very difficult.
Wan Chengfeng reminded Wan Xin not to use her spiritual strength recklessly; she needed to conserve her energy because there could be formidable opponents in a place like this. Jiang Fann then looked up at the sky, noticing the beautiful stars scattered across it. However, the Chapter of Formation Dao seemed to release some energy, as if trying to alert him.
At that moment, Lin Zhan spoke up, "Young Master, the stars in the sky form a grand array. This is definitely the work of someone significant. Those aren't real stars; they're just projections of a formation."
"No wonder they seem familiar," Jiang Fann replied.
Lin Zhan continued, "There should be another space above this one, superior to the two below. That's likely where you need to go."
Jiang Fann glanced upward, feeling the surroundings, and then pondered the dark world beneath his feet. "Is this some kind of simulation of the three realms by a powerful figure?"
Hearing Jiang Fann's musing, Wan Chengfeng asked, "Did you figure something out?"
Jiang Fann pointed to the stars above. "We need to keep moving upward."
"Up there? We can't recover our spiritual strength here. If we try to ascend and you're wrong, we'll fall. Without spiritual strength to protect us, it could be disastrous," Wan Chengfeng cautioned.
Jiang Fann steadied himself, "I'm not planning to go up until we're sure. Let's explore this area first and see if we can find another way."
After speaking, the three of them set off, heading forward cautiously. This was, after all, a secluded valley, and the seemingly calm area might not be as safe as it appeared.
As they walked, Jiang Fann reflected on the space they had explored earlier. They hadn't found anything there, but he was convinced that it wasn't truly empty. It was likely they had simply overlooked something. This place was crafted by someone with significant power, and there had to be something special about it. Jiang Fann couldn't believe that someone with such abilities would create all this without a purpose.
A distant howl echoed through the nearby woods, but it didn't carry much threat—just a bit stronger than an ordinary animal. The three of them paid it no mind.
