C2602 Different Regions!

C2602 Different Regions!

1On the other side of the barrier, Jiang Fann and his companions immediately felt a dense spiritual strength enveloping them, even more intense than in the Immortal Valley. As they glanced around, they realized they were still within a valley, lush with vegetation, similar to the Immortal Valley but noticeably quieter.

Using their spiritual sense to scan the surroundings, they found almost no spiritual beasts, only some insects crawling around. Having lived in such an environment for so long, these insects had developed distinct auras, and their combat abilities weren't to be underestimated.

Jiang Fann began walking forward, prompting Wan Chengfeng to quickly caution, "Be careful."

"I've already sensed this area. There's nothing troublesome. It's divided into many sections by inhibitions, and this is just the outer part, not too dangerous," Jiang Fann reassured him.

Wan Chengfeng was surprised. "You've sensed it? Have you been here before?"

"Not at all. I just have other means. I know what I'm doing..." Jiang Fann didn't elaborate further. Wan Chengfeng trusted him completely and didn't press for more information. Instead, he reminded Wan Xin to stick close and not act recklessly, as the area was indeed perilous.

Based on Lin Zhan's descriptions, Jiang Fann had mentally mapped out the nearby regions, resembling a small map. However, the most critical area was beyond Lin Zhan's reach, leaving Jiang Fann uncertain about its conditions. Nonetheless, he suspected that was where the real danger lay.

Marking his current position, Jiang Fann didn't act immediately. Instead, he found a relatively hidden spot to set up an array. Having traveled with Jiang Fann before, Wan Chengfeng was no stranger to watching him set up arrays, especially this particular one.

"A teleportation array?" Wan Xin was a bit surprised. "He can set up a teleportation array too?"

Wan Chengfeng replied, "He knows a lot of things. This is a life-saving trick that can be crucial in critical moments."

Watching Jiang Fann quickly complete the array, Wan Chengfeng said directly, "Give me one of those portable teleportation arrays."

Jiang Fann responded, "You haven't used the last one I gave you, have you?"

Wan Chengfeng took out the spiritual jade and handed it to Jiang Fann. Jiang Fann took it, infused it with the energy from the array he just set up, and then handed it back to Wan Chengfeng. "This will do, but it can only be used once. However, it's best if we stick together here. There are some areas I can't sense, so we need to be cautious."

With that, Jiang Fann got up and took the lead. Wan Chengfeng had Wan Xin follow Jiang Fann while he stayed behind to cover the rear.

Wan Xin was curious about everything here, but they hadn't gone far when Jiang Fann turned back to ask them, "How much do you know about this place?"

Wan Xin shook her head. "This inner valley is a restricted area in our sect. Everyone knows about it, but we're not allowed to enter. Only my great-grandfather can open the entrance, not even my grandfather can do it. Not everyone has your abilities."

Wan Chengfeng said, "This place is indeed off-limits. It's my first time here, but my dad and the old man have definitely been here before. They must have trained here, though they already had a high level when they entered. According to them, they didn't spend much time here, and there were large areas they couldn't access. They never told me why, so this time, we'll have to rely on ourselves."

As the three were chatting, they suddenly heard a loud breathing sound coming from afar. It was as if something was snoring, the sound so loud it was clear even from a distance.

The three quickly reacted, immediately suppressing their presence. Jiang Fann motioned for the other two to wait while he planned to check it out alone. Wan Xin wanted to follow, but Wan Chengfeng held her back, much to her displeasure.

Jiang Fann's figure soon vanished into the night. The dense forest didn't hinder his movements, and he quickly spotted a massive figure lying among the trees. It was a wild boar, but its aura had reached a formidable level, and it was sound asleep, seemingly oblivious to the outside world.

They had just entered the inner valley and already encountered a beast of such power, proving that this place was extremely dangerous. Surely, even stronger creatures awaited them ahead.

Jiang Fann had no intention of provoking this guy. After all, they were here to gain some benefits and didn't want to waste time on him. He quietly withdrew and rejoined his companions.

After explaining the source of the snoring to them, Wan Xin's face changed, clearly apprehensive. Wan Chengfeng, however, didn't react much and even seemed a bit excited.

Wan Xin looked at him and said directly, "Uncle, that beast is as powerful as you, maybe even stronger. Why are you smiling? The creatures we encounter later will definitely be more formidable. Aren't you afraid of getting crushed?"

"Our previous comrade is now the Holy Son of the Thunder Sect. After receiving his inheritance, he got a powerful beast as a pet. I need to get something similar, or it'll be embarrassing."

Wan Xin was speechless, looking at him as if he were crazy. The idea of a beast that powerful was beyond her imagination.

But Jiang Fann's words shocked her even more. He smiled at Wan Chengfeng and said, "That wild boar isn't suitable for you, Brother Wan. Riding a pig would look ridiculous. We'll find something better for you later, and I'll help you figure it out."

"You guys must be crazy..."

Jiang Fann ignored her and then got up, moving in another direction to avoid the wild boar, not planning to confront it directly.

As they got closer, they could sense the presence of the wild boar, just as Jiang Fann had described. From Jiang Fann's observations, this boar seemed to be the dominant creature in the area. It slept without a care, and no other beasts dared to approach, indicating its high status.

Moving to another location, Jiang Fann quickly reached a different barrier. The spiritual energy here was similar to that in the valley, so there was no need to assimilate any power. Without wasting time, Jiang Fann led the two others through the barrier, not lingering in the previous area.

Once they passed through, the spiritual energy changed again, becoming even more concentrated. However, the environment before them was completely different. The lush vegetation disappeared, revealing what looked like a desert landscape.

Despite this, the surrounding spiritual energy was still rich with life, which surprised Jiang Fann. It wasn't what he expected. This was the area Lin Zhan had warned about, where they could sense a powerful presence. Moving forward, the barriers would require re-assimilation of the spiritual energy, making it more dangerous than the previous areas.

Jiang Fann said, "Be careful. It's almost dawn. We'll move once it's light."

Wan Chengfeng leaned in close to Jiang Fann and whispered, "Why are the plants like this here? The vitality doesn't seem weak at all."

Jiang Fann activated the Great Arts of Five Elements, carefully sensing the flow of spiritual strength. He confirmed it was as Wan Chengfeng had described. He even planted a seed in the soil, channeling the surrounding energy into it to observe its germination.

To their surprise, the seed's sprouting and growth weren't affected, which only deepened their confusion.

Just then, Wan Xin suddenly stood up and took several steps back. Jiang Fann and Wan Chengfeng noticed her reaction and turned to look in the direction she was facing, which was behind them.

When they turned to face the barrier, their hearts skipped a beat. On the other side, a massive shadow appeared, illuminated by the moonlight, exuding an intense sense of pressure. It was a gigantic boar with enormous tusks and a round body, its large eyes fixed on them with a menacing glare.

It was the same boar they had seen earlier, now awake and aware of their presence, having followed them all the way here.

Wan Chengfeng whispered, "Do you think it'll charge at us?"

"It shouldn't, but its senses are sharper than I expected. If we'd come a bit later, it might have caught up with us," Jiang Fann replied.

Wan Xin, clearly nervous, asked, "So, what do we do now?"

Jiang Fann remained calm, saying, "Don't worry about it. If it could come over here, it wouldn't just be staring at us. Still, it might alert more powerful creatures in the area, so we should move out of its sight."

With that, he turned and walked in another direction, ignoring the wild boar's angry glare.

Wan Chengfeng and the others quickly followed. The boar let out a furious roar, but the barrier blocked the sound, leaving the three unaware of any noise.

After being spotted by the boar, Wan Xin took out a pill and swallowed it. She realized that her presence must have been detected by the boar, while Wan Chengfeng and Jiang Fann wouldn't have had this issue. She knew she needed to be more cautious.

Seeing her actions, Wan Chengfeng chuckled, "Don't worry too much. I'll teach you a technique later."

Boom—

Boom—

The ground trembled with a rhythmic thud, indicating the footsteps of a massive creature approaching. It wasn't moving fast, but it was definitely heading their way.

Jiang Fann remarked, "Looks like the boar really can communicate with powerful creatures around here. Our presence has been exposed."

Wan Chengfeng frowned, "When we get back, we need to give it a good lesson."

Jiang Fann led the group of three, adjusting their direction slightly. Then, by a large boulder, he quickly set up a concealment barrier. Though this barrier wasn't as effective as a full formation, it had the advantage of being set up on the fly. With Jiang Fann's unique skills and the energy absorbed from the assimilation barrier, they were able to perfectly mask their presence.

The three remained silent, patiently waiting as the footsteps grew closer and the ground trembled more intensely.
