At that moment, the little one suddenly opened her eyes, looking puzzled, and glanced directly toward Jiang Fann and his group. Seeing this, Fang Xiang couldn't help but feel a bit guilty and retreated behind Jiang Fann. However, Jiang Fann understood the reason.    

With the inheritance underway, the lingering spirit could now communicate with the little one and had revealed their hiding spot to her. Yet, the little one didn't alert the three demonic beasts, as if sensing something.    

Watching the little one receive the inheritance, Jiang Fann couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated. "Looks like we're not getting anything out of this inheritance," he remarked.    

Fang Xiang, not in the best mood, replied, "You're still thinking about benefits? We're lucky to keep our lives. That little one surely knows we're here."    

The three demonic beasts had transformed into human form, standing outside the ring of fire with a sense of reverence. They had guarded this place for years, and now they had completed a significant task. As for the possibility of other practitioners hiding nearby, it no longer concerned them. They knew no one would disturb the inheritance, and they wouldn't give anyone the chance to cause trouble.    

The little one suddenly turned around, continuing its task while glancing at the three individuals. "You should leave here for now. I don't want to be disturbed."    

The three weren't sure what it had in mind, but it was clear it wasn't asking for their opinion. They could only nod in agreement and turn to leave, keeping a safe distance just in case anything went wrong so they could quickly step in if needed.    

Once they were out of sight, the little creature turned back, fixing its gaze on the spot where Jiang Fann and Fang Xiang were hiding. It suddenly spoke, "Give me your potion, and I'll let you off the hook."    

The message was clear: it not only knew where Jiang Fann and Fang Xiang were but also recognized who they were. The potion it referred to was the special elixir Jiang Fann had used to lure it out earlier.    

Jiang Fann deactivated the barrier with a smile, looking at the creature. Despite its childlike voice, it was as perceptive as any adult human. "I was planning to take some of your inheritance, but I didn't expect you to return so quickly."    

The creature looked at Fang Xiang, puzzled. "Why do you look different? Your aura hasn't changed, though. I remember your aura from when you took me out."    

Earlier, Fang Xiang had only altered his appearance, forgetting to change his aura, which allowed the creature to recognize him.    

He looked incredibly awkward at that moment, wishing he could leave right away.    

Fang Xiang said, "When I was out gaining experience, I liked doing things this way. Go back and tell your master that I'll find a chance to visit her."    

The little guy shook his head. "You're not good enough for my master, so just give up."    

Hearing this, Fang Xiang felt a spark of anger. He retorted, "We'll see about that. Maybe one day you'll have to call me master!"    

In the distance, three figures who were there to protect the little guy could see what was happening. They had seen Jiang Fann and his group before and remembered them.    

"It's actually them. I didn't expect them to get here before us. If I'm not mistaken, the one behind him is the person who took the Young Master away before. He's been here once, so he's definitely familiar with this place. That jerk doesn't even consider us worth his time."    

There was a murderous look in his eyes. If it weren't for the Young Master's orders, he would have wanted to rush over and deal with those two young men right then.    

Another one beside him spoke up, "They know the Young Master's master, so it's better not to make things too tense. Since the Young Master doesn't mind, we should just follow his lead."    

"That's right. The Young Master wasn't surprised to see them, so he must have already noticed them. On the way back, the Young Master deliberately delayed, maybe to buy them some time. If we really make a move against them, there's no guarantee the Young Master won't get angry."    

The leading beast clearly disagreed with the two people's statements. To it, Jiang Fann seemed to be provoking them.    

"The Young Master will need some time to complete the inheritance process. Until then, I haven't received any orders to spare them. If they want to save their skins, they'll need to hand over what they've gained here. Otherwise, I won't let them off easily."    

Meanwhile, Jiang Fann noticed a few gazes fixed on him—three, to be exact. One of those looks was anything but friendly. He was almost certain that one of the three beasts would take a risk, so he needed to be extra cautious and plan ahead.    

The little creature chatted with Jiang Fann and his companion for a bit longer, urging them to leave quickly. It would take a long time for its inheritance to finish, and it didn't want to bring bad news back to its master. As a pet, it knew very well how much Jiang Fann and his companion meant to its owner—not just old acquaintances.    

Having given its warning, it left them to make their own choices.    

The aura of the fire qilin was incredibly powerful, and the flames it emitted were astonishing, surpassing most other fires. However, since this was a bloodline power, Jiang Fann couldn't control it. Otherwise, he would have found a way to keep a wisp of the flame for himself.    

Fang Xiang noticed three figures in the distance and quietly warned Jiang Fann, "I have a feeling they're up to no good. Should we leave from another direction and avoid them? If I remember correctly, there should be other exits around here."    

After speaking, he pulled out a map that marked the general layout of this dangerous area, clearly indicating two different exits. Fang Xiang felt a sense of pressure from those three figures and definitely didn't want to confront them directly.    

Just as Jiang Fann was about to leave, the little one's power surged again. As its strength increased, the surrounding atmosphere was affected, and the red beam from the stone tablet shot straight into the sky.    

The red light spread out high above, extending around as if forming a massive dome of light, enveloping the entire area.    

Seeing this change, Jiang Fann said seriously, "A barrier? It seems like some kind of power in this place has been activated, probably left by the holy beast from long ago."    

"We should hurry up and leave. If we get trapped by this barrier and more pursuers come, we'll really be in a tight spot."    

Jiang Fann shook his head gently, remaining calm. "It's too late now. Even if I use my spiritual treasure, it's going to be tough to get out of here before the barrier fully forms."    

The three figures watched the sky, clearly unsure of what was happening. One of them decided to rise into the air to sense the barrier's strength from above. The burly figure approached the barrier and touched the red surface, quickly pulling back as it burned like fire, possessing considerable destructive power.    

This change was undoubtedly a good thing for them, as it would make it much harder for outsiders to break in. Meanwhile, the little one was completely absorbed, shutting out the world and fully immersed in the inheritance process.    

Fang Xiang had been observing the figure hovering mid-air. Seeing the state of the barrier, he quickly informed Jiang Fann. With Xiao Mo's formidable strength on their side, Jiang Fann wasn't worried, though the changes in this perilous place were puzzling to him.    

He had previously examined the formations on the stone tablet and calculated that the inheritance here shouldn't possess such strong power, nor did it require altering the environment. The intense heat from the barrier would surely raise the temperature rapidly, making it unsuitable for most creatures to train here. This would be disastrous for the guardian beasts of the area.    

Seeing that Jiang Fann had no intention of leaving, Fang Xiang felt uneasy. To him, Jiang Fann staying here was incredibly risky, especially under the watchful eyes of the three beasts.    

Before long, just as Jiang Fann had anticipated, the surrounding temperature began to rise steadily, with the power of fire gradually gaining the upper hand. The barrier had now fully formed, enveloping the perilous area completely. From this point on, anyone wishing to leave would have to pass through it, an impossible feat without formidable Fire Arts.    

At that moment, the young creature, previously focused on receiving its inheritance, suddenly shuddered and started struggling mid-air, as if trying to break free from the spiritual energy. This unexpected turn of events caught everyone off guard.    

Three figures quickly approached, their spiritual senses locked onto Jiang Fann and his companion, clearly suspecting them of disrupting the creature's inheritance. Jiang Fann ignored their scrutiny, his brow furrowed as he observed the young creature, noticing its chaotic aura as if it were undergoing some kind of turmoil.    

The leading beast hurriedly moved closer, confirming that Jiang Fann and his companion were not responsible, and refrained from causing trouble.    

"Young Master! You..."    

Before it could finish, the young creature suddenly opened its eyes and looked at the three of them. "Stay away from me, and drive these two outsiders away." Despite its chaotic aura, the creature spoke clearly, though its expression was somewhat unnatural, and its voice had lost its previous youthful tone.    

The three beasts paused for a moment, their keen senses picking up on the subtle change.    

Jiang Fann suddenly spoke up, "Stop the inheritance now."    

Fang Xiang looked at Jiang Fann in shock. They were already in a tough spot, and Jiang Fann's sudden outburst seemed like throwing fuel on the fire, sure to provoke the three beings.    

As expected, the lead demonic beast was instantly enraged by Jiang Fann.    

"You're asking for it!"    

It moved to attack, and the overwhelming pressure forced Fang Xiang to take several steps back to steady himself.    

But Jiang Fann paid it no mind. He went straight to the little one and spoke directly, his voice booming like thunder.    

"Wake up!"    

The little one looked distressed, clearly uncomfortable. Its aura fluctuated wildly, and the once-mighty flames of the qilin had lost their earlier power.
