C1477 One Blade
C1477 One Blade
The Emperor Level Martial Cultivators standing behind Luo Tianlei paled, retreating hastily. Among the warriors who had arrived at the Zhou family's doorstep, only Luo Tianlei had reached the late Emperor Level. He had assumed that would be enough to handle the Zhou family. However, to his surprise, the Zhou family had a significant ace up their sleeve—one that had eluded the Purple Cauldron Sect for ages. For this oversight alone, the Zhou family was marked for destruction.
"Hahaha~
Luo Tianlei, you never saw this coming, did you? My Beast Controlling Zhou family has the Blood Supreme Ancestor as our hidden elder. We would not have disturbed him unless it was absolutely necessary. But since you've come to obliterate my Zhou family today, you'll have to leave some of your own behind! It's time for the Zhou family to make our escape!" Zhou Ran's laughter boomed as he soared downward.
Demonic beasts were known for their tough hides and massive statures, their physical strength far surpassing those of similar rank. Facing multiple opponents wasn't an issue for them, victory aside, simply holding them off was well within reach—especially since the opposition only had one individual at the late Emperor Level, with the rest ranging from the Early to Middle stages.
Blood Supreme had ascended to the late Emperor Level centuries ago, choosing to remain hidden and dormant, never revealing himself until now. Faced with the threat of annihilation, there was no choice but to awaken him. After his rise to power, he had no desire to be commanded by the Zhou family, who lacked even a single late Emperor Level cultivator. This trade was the only option.
Zhou Ran believed that with Blood Sovereign intercepting Luo Tianlei and his companions, the Zhou family's core members and prodigious disciples would have no trouble escaping. But the events that unfolded next took him by surprise once again.
High above, Luo Tianlei watched the emergence of the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger with a hint of astonishment. Yet, his composure remained intact, his demeanor cool and collected.
Confronted with the overwhelming scarlet flames, he showed no intention of evading them. With a swift turn of his hand, a large saber over a meter in length materialized. The saber quivered, emitting a dazzling white light. A luminous blade of light shot forth, challenging the immense scarlet flames that nearly obscured half the sky.
In terms of might or size, the luminous blade paled in comparison to the scarlet inferno. Yet, when they collided, the outcome left onlookers astounded. The blade of light effortlessly cleaved the scarlet flames in two. The power of the flames dissipated, hissing like water on hot oil, and vanished into thin air, while the blade of light remained unscathed.
It relentlessly pursued the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger, its force growing by the second. The speed was so fearsome that Zhou Ran and other Middle Stage Emperor Level Martial Cultivators struggled to track it with their eyes. The Three-Tailed Winged Tiger, massive in size, had no chance to dodge.
"No! What is this power...?!" Panic and unease replaced the creature's former wild arrogance. It recognized the horrifying force behind the luminous blade of light—far beyond what any Late Period Emperor Level Martial Cultivator could wield. Clearly, this was a secret weapon the Purple Cauldron Sect had in reserve.
Desperate to flee but trembling and immobilized by the lock of the blade, the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger could only watch its approach. It unleashed a torrent of blood-red flames in defense, but to no avail. The flames were smoothly cleaved apart, as if by a hot knife through butter.
In an instant, the blade of light, as if dividing heaven and earth, struck the beast. A gruesome sound of flesh being pierced filled the air as the blade penetrated the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger. Blood spurted out like a geyser, and the beast was sent hurtling backward, crashing into the Zhou family's protective barrier, which was already riddled with cracks and on the brink of shattering.
The impact was too strong to withstand.
Suddenly, with a loud crash, it shattered into innumerable fragments.
At last,
The Three-Tailed Winged Tiger plummeted into the Zhou family's core territory,
Creating a colossal crater thousands of meters wide.
Nearby buildings collapsed in heaps.
Tens of thousands of Zhou family warriors were caught in the blast and perished instantly.
Even Zhou Ran, at the Emperor Level middle stage, was clipped by the impact, sent flying, spewing blood, his aura severely diminished.
The Three-Tailed Winged Tiger, too, suffered grave injuries.
"How is this possible? How can you be this powerful?"
Zhou Ran, wiping the blood from his lips, bellowed in disbelief, having lost all sense of reason.
He could not fathom the collapse of his greatest support.
He could never have imagined that Luo Tianlei, also at the late period Emperor Level, on par with the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger, could inflict such damage with a single blow!
"All thanks to my senior brother's foresight, sealing my full strength into this Spirit weapon.
Without the ability to deliver a peak Emperor Level assault, today's challenge would have been insurmountable."
Luo Tianlei caressed the large blade in his hand, a slight smile on his face.
He had once thought Yang Mao's preparations excessive.
Yet, he found them indispensable.
"Peak of Emperor Level? How can this be?!"
Zhou Ran was stunned.
That was the pinnacle of Emperor Level, the apex of the Dongyuan Continent.
To think it had come to this.
Had he known, he wouldn't have underestimated the significance of the peak Emperor Level.
The Zhou family would have surrendered half their wealth without resistance.
Against the peak of Emperor Level, no matter the Zhou family's aces, they stood no chance.
Alas, it was too late.
"Brat, I've endured a strike from the peak of Emperor Level, and now I'm done with the Zhou family!"
From the depths of the crater, the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger transformed into a streak of crimson light, fleeing into the distance.
Its wings beat furiously, reopening its wounds, blood gushing forth.
The bones at the point where the bright blade light had struck were completely shattered. The creature's injuries were worsening by the second. Yet, it paid no heed to its wounds and fled desperately. If it didn't escape now, it might very well pay with its life.
Luo Tianlei watched the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger as it made its escape, a look of regret in his eyes. But he made no move to pursue it. His peak Emperor Level attack had already been expended. Although the Three-Tailed Winged Tiger was gravely injured, it remained at the late stage of Emperor Level. Luo Tianlei wasn't entirely sure he could defeat it, and it would also take up precious time.
Right now, the priority was to complete his mission. All else was secondary.
Luo Tianlei's piercing gaze then settled on Zhou Ran. "Now, it's your turn!" he declared. With that, he swung his large blade. A blade light, even more brilliant than before, flew out towards Zhou Ran. Its might was not as formidable as the previous attack, being only at the late stage of Emperor Level, but it was more than sufficient. No one in the entire Zhou family could stand against it.
Under Zhou Ran's gaze of utter despair, he was cleaved in two and perished instantly. His body lay on the ground, marking the earth with a long, deep gash.
