C1356 Defense Technique!

0"Father-in-law, rest assured, I'm fine. I even traveled on the Thousand Treasure Ship from the Million Treasure Pavilion, crossing the Heavenly Elemental Sea to reach the Central Essence Continent," Lin Xuan recounted his recent adventures, including his journey to Jade Dragon Mountain.

Lin Qiyuan listened with a mix of overwhelming joy and a touch of melancholy. "It's a relief to hear Shiyun is safe, and that Yun Yan and the others are recovering," he said, his eyes brimming with tears, his yearning and concern evident.

"Father-in-law, you needn't worry. I've advanced to the Martial Monarch Stage. While I may not be invincible, there are few on the entire Tianyuan Continent who pose a threat to my life. It won't be long before I've settled matters on the Dongyuan Continent, and then I'll ensure you're reunited with your family on the Central Essence Continent," Lin Xuan assured him with a serene smile.

Lin Qiyuan was taken aback, struggling to grasp the boldness of Lin Xuan's claim. The idea that hardly anyone on the continent could endanger him seemed preposterous. Yet, recalling Lin Xuan's remarkable progress in cultivation, he couldn't help but believe that if anyone could make such a claim, it was Lin Xuan.

The prospect of being sent to the Central Essence Continent to reunite with his daughter Lin Shiyun and his wife Su Yun Yan stirred him deeply, his heart quivering with excitement. But then he shook his head, "There's no need. I'm content here and wouldn't want to impose on them."

Lin Xuan immediately understood Lin Qiyuan's reservations. With the Jade Dragon Mountain home to numerous Emperor Level Martial Cultivators, Lin Qiyuan, who hadn't even reached the Martial King Stage, felt inadequate. He feared ridicule from Su Yun Yan's family and the possibility of embarrassing her and Lin Shiyun. Ultimately, he felt like an outsider, unworthy of their esteemed company.

"Father-in-law, there's no need to worry. I hold some sway at Jade Dragon Mountain. Should anyone dare to disrespect you, they'll answer to me. Shiyun and your wife miss you dearly," Lin Xuan continued his attempt to reassure him.

Lin Qiyuan remained silent, offering no further response.

Lin Xuan inwardly sighed, choosing not to press the issue further. This was about a man's pride, and it wasn't his place to force the issue. The decision was Lin Qiyuan's to make. If necessary, once Lin Xuan's power was adequate, he could bring Lin Shiyun and Su Yunyun to Dongyuan Continent for a family reunion. Lin Qiyuan's level of cultivation was more fitting for this place anyway. Even for the sake of Lin Shiyun and Su Yunyun, he would feel out of place and constrained at Jade Dragon Mountain. The choice between the two options was best left to Lin Qiyuan.

After a short pause, Lin Xuan steered away from the topic.

"I've returned to check on the well-being of everyone at Tianyuan Palace, to see if any issues have arisen that need addressing. I also plan to implement some additional defensive measures. Given the current turmoil on the continent, our previous security arrangements are insufficient. Moreover, I didn't conceal my movements on my way back, so it's likely my whereabouts have been compromised. The Devil Cloud Sect, East Saint Sect, and the other major powers are probably keeping tabs on me. We won't be able to stay under the radar much longer, so it's time to take precautions."

Lin Xuan spoke with a serene demeanor, downplaying the gravity of the situation.

Meanwhile, Lin Qiyuan stood rooted to the spot, his mind reeling with tumultuous thoughts. Tianyuan Palace was no longer just a small city within Fengwu State. The recent warfare had spread across the continent, revealing the existence of the six most formidable forces, including the Devil Cloud Sect, Elemental Spirit Sect, and East Saint Sect, to countless warriors of lower ranks. These six sects were the true sovereigns of the continent.

As Lin Xuan spoke so nonchalantly, it seemed as though he was on par with, if not surpassing, these six great powers in stature. If Lin Xuan's casual remarks were to be believed, one could only wonder at the heights his power had reached.

Lin Qiyuan's heart was seized with shock, yet he couldn't begin to fathom the extent of the situation. His own level was considerably low when compared to the vastness of the continent; his perspective was simply too limited. Lin Xuan reassured him, "Don't worry, I'll handle everything."

With a casual gesture, Lin Xuan opened his palm, and a crimson flame materialized within it. The temperature in the hall rose instantly, only to stabilize under Lin Xuan's deliberate control. "Fire Spirit, I'll need you to stay here for the time being," Lin Xuan addressed the flame in his hand, which quivered in response.

"I'll be back in a few days and you'll get your reward then," Lin Xuan promised, soothing the Fire Spirit as one might a child. Despite its sentience, the Fire Spirit's intelligence was limited, akin to that of a child's. Yet, it wielded fearsome power, capable of annihilating this valley and the land for hundreds of kilometers around with ease. The Fire Spirit bounced energetically, its mood clearly buoyant, signaling its agreement.

Lin Xuan then produced a token, infused it with a wisp of his energy, and handed it to Lin Qiyuan. "Father-in-law, keep this with you. If any Emperor Level Martial Cultivators approach with ill intent, just activate this token. The Fire Spirit will come to your aid. There aren't many on the Dongyuan Continent who can stand against it."

Lin Qiyuan accepted the token, his mind struggling to keep pace with the unfolding events. Lin Xuan's claims seemed more extravagant with each passing moment, and Lin Qiyuan found them hard to swallow. Lin Xuan spoke with such nonchalance about entities that, to Lin Qiyuan, were akin to mythological beings, treating them as if they were mere insects. If not for his deep trust in Lin Xuan's character, he would have found such statements unbelievable.

Yet, even with trust, Lin Qiyuan was profoundly shaken, his emotions turbulent and unsteady. Just how far had Lin Xuan ascended? His demeanor was beyond Lin Qiyuan's comprehension. With a flick of his wrist, Lin Xuan sent the Fire Spirit soaring into the earth, where it vanished from sight, leaving Lin Qiyuan in silent awe.

Lin Xuan chose not to say more, preferring instead to let the facts speak for themselves. After all, facts are the most compelling evidence.

They continued their conversation for a while longer, during which Lin Xuan provided Lin Qiyuan with a detailed update on Lin Shiyun and Su Yunyan's current circumstances.

More than an hour later, they finally exited the grand hall. Lin Xuan took his time meandering through the valley, encountering several acquaintances along the way. He took the opportunity to address their questions and concerns regarding their cultivation practices.

Among the creatures he saw was the Azure Heaven Bull Python. As a demonic beast that was a true member of Tianyuan Palace, it enjoyed privileges not afforded to the other beasts, such as the Violent Ape. This particular beast was the revered ancestor of the Ming Chang Royal Family, now known as Ming Chang Hall. A vast pond had been constructed at the valley's edge to serve as its home.
